SWISS/geneva

A couple more photos from Switzerland.

Photo #1- This is a picture that I saw hanging at the United Nations in Geneva.  I don't know why, but I found myself identifying with this photo.  I can just imagine my Christmas card looking like this in my latter years.

Photo #2- I had no idea that the United Nations had such amazing art!  My favorite was this amazing painting by Spanish artist, Miquel Barcelo, which was painted on the ceiling of one of the conference rooms.  Isn't it mesmerizing?!  I started to dream of a home where this is the foyer ceiling.  Could happen, right?  Remember the Vogels?

Photo #3- Yes, I promised a swan photo and so here it is.  Isn't he lovely?  I told you that everything in Switzerland is beautiful...and this bird just proves my point.

Photo #4- No words necessary.  Louis Vuitton always has some of the best windows of all.

SWISS/geneva & lausanne

Switzerland is a place so beautiful that only swans swim there (will show a picture later)...the mountains, the lake, the swans, the chocolatiers...and the rows of designer boutiques...yep, this could truly be one of the most beautiful places of all.

We went to Geneva and Lausanne while in Switzerland. Digital Vacancy was contemplating his move to Lausanne after just an hour there (he says 2 hours). Switzerland is one of those places that is quick to seduce its visitors...and I too was quickly allured.

P.S. This is part 1.

PARIS/part 1

To refer to this post as "PARIS/part 1" suggests that there is a "PARIS/part 2," right? I will satisfy your curiosity now and tell you that there absolutely is a part 2 to come. Why? Well, first of all, it's Paris (a place filled with amazing architecture, food, museums and fashion) and second of all, I am not known for my brevity.

While this wasn't my first time to Paris, I still found myself very inspired by the city. Since returning home and fully digesting all that I saw, I have realized just how inspired I truly was.

P.S. The Helmut Newton exhibit at the Grand Palais was phenomenal!

STILL/7 for all man kind jean shorts

It took me far too long to make my way to the new Clyfford Still Museum in Denver, but I finally went this weekend. It was such a treat! The building that was designed by Brad Cloepfil and Allied Works Architecture is absolutely amazing and provides the most perfect surrounding for Still's work. Plus, the natural lighting within the gallery is an art in itself. I couldn't help but fantasize about living in this amazing building (yes, paintings included) and enjoying my morning cup of coffee on the enclosed terrace. What can I say? I'm a total dreamer.

A BRIEF INTERMISSION

So occasionally we go and play bingo (don't judge...it's fun!). If you have ever gone then you know that as the balls are called, they are placed in front of a video camera which projects the image of each ball on all the TV monitors in the room (just in case you can't hear a number being called). My sister is always entertained by the fact that during the intermission, they put a stuffed bear in front of the camera so that bingo goers can still have something to look at on the screen as they prepare for the next round. This post is kinda like my intermission teddy bear, as we are still organizing photos from our recent trip. I don't want to bore you with mediocre images, so it is absolutely imperative that I choose the best ones.

This photo was taken at New York Fashion Week last September.

Enjoy!
