PIXELATED PERFECTION/preen x aldo rise giffee printed heeled sandals

Jerrmaner and I had a lovely day wandering around the Confluence Park area.  I was eager to take pictures around the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver because it truly has to be one of the coolest places in Denver.

I am wearing a Custo Barcelona belt that I puchased in Spain.  Jerrmaner and I stopped at every Custo Barcelona and Desigual shop we passed in Spain...and 9 times out of 10, we bought something.  Going to Barcelona pretty much resuscitated my love for Custo (which I used to buy all the time in my early 20s).  At first, I think I just felt as though I couldn't escape Barcelona without buying something from Desigual or Custo Barcelona...But looking back, I am happy that I bought all that I did because I feel that both brands really capture the artistic spirit of the city.  And Barcelona has to be one of the most artistic cities that I have ever visited.  Oh...how I love you, Barcelona!

LOLITA/sneakers for dress up

Super obsessed with the idea of sneakers with fancy dresses after seeing the Chanel Resort 2013.  I had been hoping to revive these sneakers from Paris...(I purchased them years and years ago) and after seeing the latest Chanel collection, I was sold!  Jerrmaner said I looked like I was inspired by Japanese Lolita fashion in this outfit; therefore, I would say that the outfit was a complete success.  Thank you, Karl (as always) for the inspiration.

COWBOY LOVE AFFAIR/miu miu western leather mules

I don't know about you, but I have a lot of questions after seeing this magazine cover?  Is there a real cowboy involved?  Or is something up with her and this horse?  Either way, I love it.  And I recently purchased a print of it for my house.

Here they are....ooh la la!  My own cowboy love affair, although I can't say that this was love at first sight.  I saw them on the runway and yes, they were lovely, but do I need them?  I wasn't sure.  Then one morning after waking from a dream, I knew...I definitely need the Miu Miu western leather mule! I ordered them immediately.  I gasped as I opened my Net-A-Porter box...Oh my!  How could I ever think that I could live without these?!  They are everything I love in a shoe...and so much more.

FROM ANOTHER GALAXY/black milk galaxy black leggings

Seems like I've waited forever for these leggings, but here they are...in all their glory.  Absolutely love everything that Black Milk does and I now consider it to be my latest addiction.  I can see many more of these leggings in my future and I fully anticipate many good times with all of them.  I was a little worried about ordering these when I realized that a printed spandex legging would not keep any secrets (if you know what I mean), but I have to say that they fit better than I thought and I feel pretty comfortable wearing them...no overexposure here.

And no, I cannot give up the Gucci belt bag...it just feels so right.  I probably need to get a second color, but I don't think that we will be breaking up anytime in the near future.

PRINTED UTOPIA/mother "a day in paradise" printed denim

I may be a little behind in showing the printed denim trend, but the pair that I really wanted sold out immediately and my name had to be added to a wait list .  Luckily, the wait list paid off and  I just received my lovely Mother "A Day in Paradise" printed denim.  Don't they kind of remind you of Tales from the Darkside?  Or Sound of Music?  Or Switzerland?  Interpret them as you will, but you cannot deny that these jeans are majorly swoon worthy.

I think the trick with printed denim is not to coddle them and by that I mean that all denim should be treated equally.  Forget that there is a scene on your jeans and pair them with your favorite graphic tee or your favorite patterned sweater.  If you think too much about what to wear with these jeans, I think you will miss the mark.  And the last thing that you want is to end up looking too matchy-matchy.  Have fun with them...mix prints and remember, that there are no real rules in fashion.

More of these jeans are available at Revolve Clothing.

ALL THAT GLITTERS/prada chandelier shoes

Yes, these are some of my favorite little gems.  When I first saw these walk down the runway, it was like a dream come true and I knew I had to have them.  I had the same feelings towards the Prada car shoes....haven't purchased them yet, but definitely on the verge of transacting.  I start to feel bad as I kick off a new season because my shoe-to-clothing ration is like 10:1.  I keep ordering shoe after shoe after shoe and then realize that I only have a couple of new dresses to wear them with.  I always say that shoes are more fun for a girl to buy because they are one of the more forgiving fashion items that you can buy.  Let's be honest...jeans can make you feel like the ugliest bird in the flock and a dress can make you feel like skipping dinner for a week, but shoes?  No, they are friendly, inviting and much like their companion, the handbag, they quickly entice you into a magical world.  Prada shoes are on the next level..they are so amazing that they take you to a whole other galaxy.

SEEING DOUBLE/remix line tee

Digital Vacancy and I took these photos before heading to a birthday party.  I have to say that these Marc Jacobs boots have become my new favorite companion.  They go with just about anything and on this particular evening, the fact that they are water repellent came in very handy.

Did you notice that I am wearing my hair up?  Yeah, I think this is my new S/S 2012 hairdo...something perfectly easy for my current hair length.  Just tease, spray and pin...doesn't get much easier than that.  I have been boycotting hairspray for the past 10 years, so buying a bottle to create this look was kind of a surreal experience.

On another note, Digital Vacancy is talking about fantasy worlds.  I rarely leave my fantasy world.  I think that I am always mentally tucked into my little magical world...doesn't matter if I am wearing Marc Jacobs or Alexander Wang.  I create the fantasy and my shoes just make a cameo.

LOUIS VUITTON/marc jacobs

Ok, so one of my favorite things while in Paris this last time was the Louis Vuitton/Marc Jacobs exhibit at Les Arts Decoratifs.  OMG!  There are no words.  I wanted to share this earlier, but unfortunately, no photography was allowed in the exhibit.  So I ordered the book...and had to wait a couple of weeks for it to get here.

The exhibit started out quiet as you walked through rooms of early Vuitton.  The first floor was filled with the early trunks and wonderful couture dresses.  Once you have finished walking around on the first floor, you find yourself climbing a flight of stairs that leads to floor 2...and you cannot prepare for what is on floor 2.

I don't want to give anything away, but just know that the exhibit is amazing and if you are going to be in Paris before September then it is an absolute must!  The second floor is devoted to Louis Vuitton post Jacobs.  I thought it was a brilliant display because it was so loud and busy.  They had music blaring, videos playing and recordings of interviews in the background...I didn't know what to concentrate on.  But then realized that the constant commotion was the beauty of the exhibit.  I would imagine that someone as brilliant as Marc Jacobs is continually inundated with inspiration.  I would think that he is always feeding off day-to-day life, pop culture, art...and it seems as if you were that tapped into your surroundings, the constant flow of ideas to your brain would be a bit chaotic.  And while, the exhibit seemed a bit chaotic at times, it was what I would consider to be a beautiful chaos.  And Marc Jacobs proves it all the time...that there is beauty in chaos.

Buy your copy of the book here.

DEFROSTED ENCHANTMENT/thomas wylde skull scarf

It was freezing outside on this particular day, so trust me when I say that standing in an open refrigerator was a welcomed alternative.

I know that the blog has been a little Marc heavy lately.  I hope you don't mind.  But really...can you ever get sick of Marc Jacobs!?  These shoes were from the Marc By Marc Jacobs S/S 2004 collection.  These shoes and I have been together for a long time, but the flame is still very much alive. ❤

POW!/marc by marc jacobs star pumps

These are my superhero shoes.  Leave it to Marc Jacobs to make these wonderfully whimsical creations.  Many people make fun of me when I wear these shoes (remember that I live in Denver), but I feel that any comparison to a superhero is something very flattering.

SYNTHETIC INTRUSION/marc jacobs plastic metallic cowboy boot

These boots are my latest love affair.  I love the idea of incorporating plastic into clothing and the Jacobs S/S 2012 collection had plenty of that going on.  Plastic mixed with 1920's inspired silhouettes is just brilliant to me...probably because plastic usually makes people think of the future so the combination is completely surprising.  After showing Jerrmaner these boots, his face lit up with a smile as he remembered Sean Young in Blade Runner.  All in all, the Spring collection was pretty typical Marc Jacobs, and by that I mean absolutely genius.  Leave it to him to combine the unexpected and create something wonderful...almost as if he had a magic wand.

Oh and yes, guilty as charged...another dog print!  That makes two dog prints in one week!  I can't even believe it myself.  I guess I have to accept my infatuation with critters and admit that I may have a bit of a problem.

TOGETHER AT LAST/ alexander wang chloe sandals

Well it wasn't easy, but I finally did it...I finally found the Alexander Wang Chloe sandals in my size.  I guess I wasn't quick enough when these shoes were released.  I saw them hit the online sites, but with the assumption that I had some time, I only made a note of their arrival.  Then I checked on them a few weeks later and they were sold out virtually everywhere!  Buying shoes is so competitive anymore!  So...I called upon my handy visualization tricks and lucky for me, it worked.  The next time I checked Forward by elyse walker; there they were...size 38 in cement/blue.  I can't say that blue was my first choice, but I've grown to enjoy them.  I don't have a lot of blue shoes.

So here they are...blue, athletic-inspired perfection.  While I know sporty is a major trend right now, I have to say that these shoes may be as close to sporty as I will ever come.  If sporty always incorporated a 4 inch heel then you could definitely count me in on a more regular basis.

After taking the close-up shot of the shoe, Jerrmaner asked me if I wanted to delete it because of the blister.  Why would I do that?!  Blisters are my reality.  There doesn't seem to be a time when I am not nursing a blister...so hiding the fact that they exist just seems ridiculous to me.

ELIMINATING GREY AREAS/pura lopez chunky heel mary janes

Digital Vacancy and I are finally back to reality and you know what that means, right?  Yep, we are back to the good, old-fashioned outfit posts.  We have been trying to find some new locations for shooting.  I wanted something different and out of the ordinary for me...so Jerrmaner suggested a car wash.  Rude!!  My car is just too fragile to be washed...and he is always down on me about my car!  But after my sensitivity subsided, I realized that going to the car wash was a brilliant idea...well done Digital Vacancy!

Why these Yorkie print shorts were necessary, I really can't explain.  My friend tells me that I am drawn to anything that involves critters, which is pretty much a true statement.  Sign me up for anything that entails an owl, a donkey or (most recently) a Yorkie and I will be overly enchanted.

The shoes I bought a few years ago from Footcandy in California.  I love the 70's vibe of these shoes.  A little sweet, a little retro, plus a dash of metallic...it doesn't get much better than that.
